I really enjoy photographing weddings that take place close to the ocean and the Chart House in Dana Point is one of those places. The environment just relaxes everyone and the end result can be seen in the photographs. Jaylen and Catherine had their wedding reception at the Chart House Restaurant in Dana Point. The food and service there is great, add that to a room full of people celebrating a beautiful union and it just makes my job so much more enjoyable!
After their reception, I talked them into a bridal (& groom) session at the Circle of Orange and I know they really enjoyed it especially when we “accidentally” walked into the candy shop!

Redondo Beach Historic Library is an amazing location. I always enjoy photographing weddings at venues that are close to the beach and the Historic Library in Redondo Beach was no exception! Jen and Leo has had friends that I was the wedding photographer for and also we are all from the same high school…(GO Temple City Rams!) so they were completely trusting of my style of photography and let me do my thing! I had an absolute blast shooting this wedding and I had the pleasure of doing it with the amazing Doug McNamee of DMC Studio and also my partner (yeah, not that kind….) in our “TiltnShift” photography workshops. I just LOVE IT whenever I get the opportunity to photograph a wedding with a fellow photographer because we always feed off of each other’s creativity and the end result is visible in the images!

I had the amazing pleasure of being the wedding photographer for Mouy and Daniel’s wedding which included a bridal session at the amazing LA Arboretum. This couple may look a bit familiar to some of you because I photographed their engagement session at the Getty Center. I am soo tired from the wedding but loved every minute of it so I couldn’t wait to process at least 1 image immediately after I got back from the wedding!

We at www.TiltnShift.com (the educational side of Henry Wang Photography) are very excited to share what we have planned for you for the upcoming months so far. We have a wide spectrum of events planned and will cater to photographers at all stages of their artistic careers. There are 2 meet-ups that will help those who are thinking about beginning their wedding photography careers. We also have a shootout planned for those who want to build up their portfolios with some good looking couples in full on wedding attire (not a $50 dress from goodwill…) and professionally done hair and makeup! Also, for the shootout, we will be giving you the opportunity to shoot both in the studio as well as an outdoor location. Next, we will be hosting our 1st all day bootcamp/workshop that will cover how to utilize your on-camera speedlights to create artistic lighting and avoid that hated direct-flash look that most people get with those lights and we’ll have live models on hand to teach you how to get the most out of how much time the bride and groom gives you for their portraits or just how to maximize your surroundings to get shots that will SELL! Finally, due to popular demand, we are going to be having a boudoir portfolio shoot (very limited spaces) at Henry’s studios in Temple City with 2 models with multiple background/set changes and different lighting styles for different looks.
But what we are super excited to share with all of you is the opportunity to put all of that skill and practice to use in a REAL wedding! You’ll get the opportunity to shoot along side 2 experienced photographers. We wanted to provide a well rounded experience for all the attendees of this REAL wedding shoot so we will also include a pre-wedding prep session as well as a post-wedding critique. This is a rare opportunity to be able to get an all-around experience that will take your photographic skill to the next level.
